The National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) announce a change in policy on application submissions.


The Foundation’s entire suite of assistance-related Award Terms and Conditions has been revised to parallel changes made to the Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide.


Last August, NIH wrote that noncompliance with public access reporting in progress reports delayed funding for about 20 percent of noncompeting awards. A six-month review of our progress reveals that compliance is improving but still needs work since a large number of awards are on hold.


NIH will issue non-competing research grant awards at a level below that indicated on the most recent Notice of Award.


In preparation for the Spring break campus closure, this is ORA’s annual reminder concerning proposal processing and submissions.


NIH Notice No. NOT-OD-13-091 announces the availability of new application instructions and forms for paper-based PHS 398 applications and electronic SF 424 (R&R) applications which are required to be used for applications intended for due dates on or after September 25, 2013

The Fulbright-Hayes Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship Program provides opportunities to doctoral candidates to engage in full-time dissertation research in modern foreign languages and area studies.


The FY2014 USM Compensation Guidelines include a three-percent Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) to be made on January 1, 2014 for regular faculty, staff and graduate assistants and a minimum one-percent Merit increase to be made on April 1, 2014.
