In preparation for this year’s  Spring break campus closure, it’s our annual reminder concerning proposal processing and submissions. ORA staff will not be available March 16-18 of Spring break week.


On January 26, 2015, the National Science Foundation (NSF) will implement changes in FastLane to support the revised version of the Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG) and to run additional automated compliance checks on proposals.


For FY 2015, the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2015 (Public Law 113-235), signed into law on December 16, 2014, restricts the amount of direct salary to Executive Level II of the Federal Executive pay scale. The Executive Level II salary is currently set at $181,500, increasing to $183,300 effective January 11, 2015.


NIH announces a new biographical sketch format to be used in all grant applications with due dates on or after May 25, 2015.


NSF’s implementation plan for the Uniform Guidance is finalized and will take effect on December 26, 2014.  The PAPPG should be used in the preparation and submission of proposals submitted via FastLane.


This is ORA’s annual reminder regarding the University’s scheduled holiday closings and the need for timely proposal submissions.


NIH annual progress reports received on/after October 1, 2014 must include a section to describe how individual development plans (IDPs) are used to identify and promote the career goals of graduate students and postdoctoral researchers associated with the award..


A Data Management Plan will be required in accordance with solicitations and invitations for new, renewal, and some supplemental funding issued on and after October 1, 2014.


A number of federal award grantees are receiving communications from Federal agencies regarding the "Pilot Program for Enhancement of Contractor Employee Whistleblower Protections" (the "Pilot Whistleblower Program").
