NSF Registration

NEW User (No Fastlane/Research.gov ID)

NEW User (No Fastlane/Research.gov ID)

If you do NOT have an NSF ID (e.g 000XXXXXX), please use the NSF Registration button below to register.  When your NSF registration is processed, you will receive two email messages: one that confirms your registration and contains your NSF ID and a second message that contains a temporary password. Your registration will be processed in one business day.

If you have any difficulties accessing the form, please contact oraera@umd.edu. 

User with an NSF ID (FastLane/Research.gov ID)

If you already have an NSF ID (e.g: 000XXXXXX) but are not yet affiliated with the University of Maryland, you can log into Research.gov to request to add a new role/affiliation on your account.

  1. From “My Profile”, click on the “Add a New Role”

  2. Click on the “Add Investigator Role”
     
  3. NSF 2
  4. Select a role and click submit
    1. Principal Investigator (PI) or co-Principal Investigator (co-PI)
    2. Other Authorized User (OAU) : for research admin

  5. There are 4 steps to complete the request to add a new role

    1. Find organization
      1. Enter the organization’s UEI (NPU8ULVAAS23) and click “Search."

      2. Verify the correct organization is displayed in the results section and click “Next.”

    2. Add information
    3. Choose Role(s)
    4. Review

    Your role request is sent to the listed Organization Contacts for review and approval. Your new role/affiliation will be approved in one business day.
