Dear PIs and Research Administrator Colleagues,
In our continuing efforts to improve research administration operations, we are pleased to announce that we now have an electronic routing process for Intellectual Property (IP) Policy Waivers on campus. Under the Kuali Build applications, which houses the UMD Researcher Gift Routing, Facility Use Application and several other campus routing forms, we now have the UMD IP Waiver routing.
The UMD IP Waiver electronic routing will be used by the Office of Research Administration for IP Waivers for sponsored project agreements; UM Ventures for Disposition of Current IP; and for researchers receiving gifts that require an IP disposition (including, e.g. open source or public domain releases).
We hope this electronic routing form will improve the timeliness of this internal process. If you have any questions regarding this new process, please contact Wendy Montgomery, wmont@umd.edu for ORA waivers or Felicia Metz, fametz@umd.edu for UM Ventures waivers.
